Columbia and Stanford Creating $30 Million Institute to Bridge Journalism and Tech

This is the future direction! IMBA students should do the same: coming up with an identification of a problem in the market, then go to engineers, programmers and even artists for assistance in design. It’s boring to just have projects based on inbreeding: from business to business. If the team could come up with a new product that solves problem, it creates more excitement and impress more.

Big news on the innovation front: Columbia Journalism School and Stanford’s School of Engineering are teaming up to create an Institute for Media Innovation. The Institute hopes to bridge the gap between journalism and technology and encourage collaboration between the two disciplines.
